ABOUT CAROL

After hearing that children were becoming increasingly anxious about climate change, Carol decided to write a novel for young teens that painted a positive future for New Zealand. It’s a future where people live sustainably with other creatures, mindful of the delicate balance of our planet’s environment. Children are key players in making this work.

Her first book, Kidnap at Mystery Island won the Storylines Tom Fitzgibbon Award (for an unpublished author) in 2021 and was published by Scholastic in 2022. She is currently working on a second adventure for the Coastal Rangers.

IN HER SPARE TIME

Carol likes adventures. With her husband Phil she has sailed across the Pacific Ocean to Tonga and Fiji, in Alaska, Vanuatu and around the North Island of New Zealand. She loves to explore New Zealand’s beautiful bush and landscapes and visit places where you can hear the birds and the ocean.

Carol lives on the fringe of Tauranga with her husband, three alpacas and eight chickens.
